- 1 box (13.25 oz) vanilla cake mix
- â…“ cup neutral oil (vegetable, avocado, canola, etc.)
- 1 cup milk or water
- 4 large eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 12 oz candy melts
- White nonpareils or sprinkles
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to the temperature indicated on your cake mix box.
- In a large bowl, mix together the cake ingredients until smooth. Pour into a greased pan and bake as directed.
- Once baked, crumble the warm cake into a mixing bowl until fine.
- Prepare the buttercream by mixing together the softened butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt, and milk until smooth.
- Combine the buttercream with the crumbled cake until mixed well. Shape into balls approximately 1¼ inches in diameter and chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.
- Melt pink candy melts and dip one end of each lollipop stick before inserting it halfway into each ball. Chill again for another 15 minutes.
- Dip each chilled cake pop into melted candy melts until fully coated, tapping off excess.
- Decorate with sprinkles before the coating hardens and let them dry upright.
