- 1 lb sirloin steak or steak tips, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 1 package (20 oz) cheese tortellini
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup beef broth
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella for topping
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tsp paprika
- 2 tbsp chopped parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Season steak with salt and pepper.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Sear steak for 2-3 minutes per side until browned; set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and add garlic; cook until fragrant. Stir in flour to create a roux.
- Gradually whisk in milk and beef broth; then stir in cheddar cheese until creamy.
- Cook tortellini according to package directions but slightly undercook them; toss with olive oil.
- Combine tortellini, steak, and cheese sauce in a greased baking dish; top with mozzarella.
- Bake uncovered for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
