- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 to 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup apple butter
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 6 ounces cream cheese (room temperature)
- 5 tablespoons butter (room temperature)
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- In a stand mixer, combine warmed milk and yeast; let rest until frothy.
- Add eggs, melted butter, and sugar; mix until combined.
- Gradually incorporate flour and salt; allow to rest for five minutes.
- Knead dough with a dough hook until elastic (5–7 minutes).
- Let dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled (30 minutes).
- Roll out dough into a rectangle, spread apple butter, sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll tightly, slice into rolls, and let rise again (20 minutes).
- Pour warmed cream over rolls before baking at 375°F for 25–30 minutes.
- Prepare frosting by mixing cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and cinnamon.
