  • 1/3 cup heavy cream (room temperature)
  • 1 large egg (room temperature)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (room temperature)
  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar or light brown sugar
  • 8 Oreo cookies (processed into crumbs)
  • 1 tablespoon black cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened) for frosting
  • 1 ounce cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 3 tablespoons heavy cream

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough by mixing water and flour in a saucepan until thickened. Set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer bowl, combine bread flour, sugar, yeast, Oreo crumbs, and salt.
  3. Add milk, heavy cream, egg, vanilla extract, and tangzhong to the dry ingredients. Knead until combined.
  4. Gradually add softened butter and knead until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
  6. Mix filling ingredients: butter, brown sugar, Oreo crumbs, cocoa powder, and cinnamon until smooth.
  7. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread filling inside. Cut into strips and roll tightly.
  8. Arrange in a lined baking pan and allow to rise until doubled in size (1-2 hours).
  9. Preheat oven to 325°F (162°C) and bake for 25-35 minutes.
  10. Prepare frosting by combining cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and heavy cream; spread on warm rolls.
