  • 5 ounces cream cheese
  • 5 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 tablespoon corn syrup
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup blackberry filling (reserved from filling)
  • 5 tablespoons salted butter (softened)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 ½ teaspoons cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the blackberry filling by cooking blackberries, sugar, cornstarch, and water over medium heat until thickened (about 5-7 minutes). Let cool.
  2. Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm water and sugar; let sit until bubbly (5-10 minutes).
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine warmed milk, melted butter, egg, and salt. Stir in activated yeast mixture.
  4. Gradually add flour and knead until smooth; let dough rise in a greased bowl until doubled (about 1 hour).
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle; spread softened butter and sprinkle brown sugar mixed with cinnamon on top.
  6. Add cooled blackberry filling evenly, roll tightly from one edge, and cut into rolls.
  7. Place rolls in a greased baking dish; allow to rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Prepare the cream cheese frosting by mixing all ingredients until smooth; drizzle over warm rolls.
