Perfect for busy weeknights or family gatherings, these meatballs are baked to perfection, delivering all the cheesy goodness you crave without the guilt. Juicy ground chicken is combined with aromatic garlic, flavorful herbs, and topped with rich marinara and melty mozzarella. They’re easy to prepare and versatile enough to enjoy on their own, over pasta, or in a sub sandwich.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • ¼ cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil or parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, Parmesan cheese, panko breadcrumbs, egg, milk, minced garlic, chopped onion, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Use your hands to form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each meatball; top with mozzarella cheese.
  5. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  6. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley before serving.
