- 5–7 tbsp cold water
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (for caramel sauce)

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
- Peel, core, and slice apples; mix with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla.
- In another bowl, combine flour and salt; cut in cold butter until crumbly. Add cold water gradually until dough forms; chill for at least an hour.
- Roll out one disc of dough into a circle and fit it into a pie pan. Fill with apple mixture and dot with butter.
