  • 1 lb medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 head of butter lettuce, separated into leaves
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger, minced
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari)
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup thinly sliced red bell peppers
  • Fresh cilantro and lime wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse and pat dry the shrimp. Season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and ginger; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes per side until they turn pink and opaque.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, and chili flakes (if using). Toss to coat evenly.
  5. Lay a butter lettuce leaf on a plate. Spoon in some shrimp mixture, followed by shredded carrots and sliced bell peppers.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro and a squeeze of lime before serving.
