  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for extra heat)
  • Oil for frying
  • Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • Soy sauce
  • Honey
  • Rice vinegar
  • Garlic (minced)
  • Ginger (grated)

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and optional cayenne in a bowl.
  3. Coat marinated chicken thoroughly in the flour mixture and rest on a wire rack.
  4. Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) and fry chicken in batches for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  5. In another saucepan, combine gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, garlic, and ginger over medium heat until thickened.
  6. Toss fried chicken in the sauce and serve hot.
