Ingredients

  • 1/2 pound steak (sliced thinly)
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 onion (chopped)
  • 1 inch knob ginger (sliced)
  • 1 stick cinnamon
  • 1 star anise pod
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 1 tbsp sugar-free honey
  • 2 tsp fish sauce
  • Miracle noodles for serving
  • Lime wedges
  • Bean sprouts
  • Cilantro
  • Chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. In a pot over medium heat, combine beef broth, water, onion, ginger, cinnamon stick, star anise, cloves, sugar-free honey, and fish sauce.
  2. Bring to a low boil; then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer for about 30 minutes.
  3. Strain the broth through a sieve back into the pot to remove solids and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Add sliced steak to the broth and simmer until cooked through.
  5. Just before serving, mix in miracle noodles.
  6. Serve hot topped with fresh bean sprouts, lime wedges, cilantro, and chopped green onions.
