Ingredients
- Yukon Gold or Russet potatoes
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Parmesan cheese
- Gruyère cheese
- Unsalted butter
- Heavy cream
- Fresh garlic
- Olive oil
- Salt and pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Thinly slice the potatoes (about 1/8 inch thick) and grate the cheeses.
- In a small saucepan, melt unsalted butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.
- Brush a cast-iron skillet with olive oil. Arrange potato slices upright in the skillet, slightly overlapping each one to create a 'domino' effect. Sprinkle salt, pepper, and cheese mixture between layers. Drizzle garlic-infused butter over the top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes. Remove foil, pour heavy cream over the potatoes, add remaining cheese, and bake uncovered for an additional 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
